One of those nights...

I woke up about a dozen times last night with this sense of urgency. Like I was missing something and needed to get out of bed A.S.A.P.

Every time I'd wake up I'd kind of lunge forward and gasp. It was the craziest thing! I haven't got any place to be today, the house is for the most part clean, the nursery is ready, my hospital bags are packed, the animals were all sound asleep in their terrariums/beds. WTF!

Ron jumped a few times and asked if the baby was coming. Poor guy. He had a late night of video games. I don't think he got much sleep at all thanks to me. : (

I'll leave you with some picture I took when I was feeling pretty the other day.

Babyshower!

Yesterday we had our second baby shower, this one was just for our close friends. As usual, plenty of pictures!

Down one Holiday, two more to go!

Sorry I haven't been around much, I've been crazy busy. It seems like I have some kind of appointment EVERYDAY, on top of work and trying to get my house ready for the baby life has been NUTSO!

Anyway, I've got a whole mess of pictures from Halloween.

Halloween, I started off the day at work, and was a Bumblebee with my mom, Viz and some of our students

waaah

I want my body back! I used to think I was so nasty, so fat and gross. I wish I could go back in time and slap myself every time I called myself "fat".

I love my pregnant body, I'm just scared about what it's going to look like after my little bundle of joy comes out.

HAHAHAHA!!!!

I tricked the computer into turning on! Too bad I don't really have anything to write about.

Funny/Sad story tho, things were getting a little sexy this morning and Ron kind of freaked out on me "What about the baby! I don't want to poke her!" It was pretty much JUST like the scene in "knocked up" that made me giggle when I saw it because of how that will never happen to us because Ron is such a horn dog. BUT IT DID! Now he's at work and I'm left feeling a little un-pretty.  Are your men so wrapped up in the baby that they aren't interested in sex anymore? Don't get me wrong, I'm GLAD he's got baby on the brain, I'm just kind of shocked is all.

I had an appointment with W.I.C. yesterday and the gave me this super sweet "babies first year" calendar! It's got all these great little stickers to put on special days like all the firsts (word, step, smile, giggle, solid food, etc.), doctors appointments, holidays, etc. It's wicked cute, and I'm so excited for it to be December so I can start using it!

Paula (Ron's mom) called yesterday to ask us about our registry because Target is having a fat sale and she wanted to get us something nice while it was going on. Ron told her how to get to it from online, she said she found what she wanted and they hung up. I don't do surprises. That's probably my one glaring fault in life. If I know I'm going to get something/something is going to happen but don't know what it is I freak out! It will haunt me. I won't be able to get it off my mind, and the very thought of it will consume my entire day. So I peeked after Ron left. She's the only one who'd used our registry so far so it wasn't hard to find out what she got us. SHE GOT US THE CHERRY WOOD DRESSER WE WANTED! It was the most expensive item on our registry! It's fucking beautiful! I'm glowing just thinking about it. I can't wait to see it all set up in our nursery. I'm dieing to get in there and start working on that nursery! Eeeeep!

Whoa, I guess I did have shit to update about. It's funny how much babbling can be done when you put your mind to it! : )

p.s. when I got up and was doing my morning cocoa butter rub down I saw that I have a (very light) line going from my belly button down to my pubic bone. The internet says it's normal, something to do with pregnancy and will go away after the baby comes out. There is also an old wives tale saying that if it goes to the belly button it's a girl, if it goes to the breast it's a boy.

Crap

Ron's computer has a bug.

I just got the internet on, we'll see how long it lasts, but until we get this fixed I might not be able to post.

We might just cave in and get a new computer tongiht, this one has been nothing but trouble since we got it.

Jungle Theme

Strawberry smoothie = LOVE!

My mom has been spoiling the shit out of me while Ron has been away! Taking me out for smoothies, doing my laundry, buying all kinds of treasures for myself and the baby! I'm ALMOST sad that this weekend at mommy's is coming to an end. I am however SUPER stoked to pickup Ron from the airport today. I miss his face SOOOO bad!

To help pass the time, I've been painting some little 8"-10" canvases for our nursery. I figure It might help give my boyfriends brother that hint that I'm ready to get in the room he has been "living" in and he should start looking for a new place to dwell already. I wanted to paint the walls, but by the time we get Sean out of there the baby will probably be here already. I swear, he hasn't so much as left his room (other than to get a beer from the fridge) in over a month!!! He's not even working anymore, all he does is sit at home locked in my nursery playing world of warcraft! And I KNOW he's smoking pot in there (if not cigarettes as well)! I don't want my FUCKING NURSERY SMELLING LIKE AN ASH TRAY! Arrrrgh!!!

...I kind of just surprised myself. I had no idea I was so angry about this. eeep!

On a happier note, here's some pictures of the paintings I have done so far.

EXHIBIT A. The dining room table.

Who REALLY uses their dining room table for sit down dinners anyway? NOT US! We couldn't if we wanted. hehehehe. Maybe by Thanksgiving I will see the surface again?

These are some of the original ideas for baby jungle animal designs. I'm painting a series of 9 canvasses for the walls of the nursery. I'm thinking about using them as a makeshift border around the room.

Here are some that are just about done now...

I'm pretty happy with them so far. Really tho, they just make me even more "excited" about getting in that room and nesting! I want in soooo bad!!!

Clotes

My mommy took me maternity clothes shopping today! I'll have to post pictures when I'm not feeling so lazy. I'm working for her at school up until I give birth, and she said me looking like I was wearing PJs everyday wasn't cutting it. : ) She got me 3 tops (two of which came with tanks tops also), a pair of pants, a sweater, and a coat! I love them all to bits! I feel so much better wearing them rather than too tight tee shirts with dance pants!

Tomorrow is the BIG ultra sound! 9:30am!  I'm so excited! My hormones were RAGING last night, and I spent a good couple hours crying in bed. I was so worried that I'm not going to be a good mommy, and that I don't deserve this baby. It almost killed my excitement about the ultrasound, but now that I've had some rest I feels much better about it. It's crazy how cranky I get when I'm tired!

Nesting

I got hit with the nesting bug this weekend! It started out as just doing the dishes (normal), that turned into taking EVERYTHING out of my cabinets and washing everything, then rearranging them all. I tore apart my refrigerator, scrubbed out every compartment and rearranged all of my condiments by expiration dates. THEN I got on my hands and knees, scrubbed the floor, then the walls, then THE CEILING!!! I spent 8 hours on the kitchen, 11 on the living areas, and a whole day on our bedroom. I was able to get Ron to clean the bathroom (kind of) because our bathroom has no ventilation so he was worried about the baby breathing in all the chemicals. It's not clean to my standards, but it's better than it was. Now if only I could get his brother out of our house so I could start on the nursery. I'm just DYING to get my hands on that room!

Last night Ron went over to his friend Teddy's house to watch basketball, he wanted me to go with him but I really couldn't care less about basketball, and the walls in the living room were begging me to Mr. clean magic eraser them. As soon as he left I felt the baby kick REAL hard. I got so excited because I hadn't felt it move in a couple days, so I spent the rest of the time Ron was gone just lying on the couch holding my belly and feeling my baby move around. It is the most wonderful feeling in the world! When babe got home and I told him about all the movement he missed out on and he got pretty bummed, but later that night in bed while he was talking to my belly he was able to feel it kick pretty hard. He looked like he was going to cry! We're both so excited!

We get our BIG ultrasound on Wednesday! Myself and pretty much everyone close to me thinks it's going to be a girl. I took some silly "old wives tales" quiz online and it said we have a 83% chance of it being a girl. I think part of us (Ronand I) is hoping it's a girl because we're butting heads so hard on boys names. He's into the super crazy Irish names, and I'm just not. Ugh.

Any who, here's a pictures from a baseball game we went to recently, and a belly pic from today (23 weeks)

.

I think it looks like I have a big pumpkin or beach ball under my skin : )

Ron thinks it's beautiful.

Bovine

Ron has been wanting to get his first tattoo and I keep joking that he should get a cow to represent how large I feel being pregnant. Well today I started lactating... TMI I know, but shit.

Pregnancy is a hell of a trip! : )

Balls

I crack myself up every morning trying to get out of bed! It seems to get more difficult to stand up everyday, and I'm only half way through this pregnancy! I honestly can not imagine my belly getting any bigger! Pregnancy is bananas!

Babe had a company party this weekend. They had a bocce ball tournament I had never played before. It's kind of like bowling only your not trying to knock anything over, and it's played on a rough and un-even surface. I was put on a team with one of Babes companies biggest clients! I was so nervous, but the two of us ended up being one of the last two teams in the running! We didn't win, but everyone was treating us as if we had. Even the team we were playing against in the finals. There was a lot of teasing going on about all the "big men who couldn't even beat a little pregnant girl playing ball in HEALS!" it was pretty fun. I don't think I've ever gotten that much attention at a party in my life!

After the party I had to drive us home because Ron had been drinking, and being pregnant I was obviously sober. I don't mind driving him around when he's been drinking as long as we don't have to stay out too late. I get so tired and cranky these days when I don't get to bed before midnight.

When we got home Ron got a call from his friend Sunny saying that some of his old college buddies were in town and wanted us to come over. I was getting tired, but I knew that he REALLY wanted to go and since he'd been drinking I would have to drive him. I said ok, but only as long as we didn't have to stay out TOO late. He agreed and told me we would be home and in bed before midnight. We stopped at 7-11 on the way to get him a six pack of beer and some sparkling apple cider for me.

When we got to Sunny's all the boys and their girlfriends were sitting around a table playing drinking games. I sat and watched, and helped them keep track of the rules. After the game was over (around 2am) and all the girls had gone to bed I assumed we would be heading home, but I was wrong. The boys were only just getting started! They turned on some movie, broke out the cards, and started shotgunning beers. I pulled Ron  aside and let him know that it was late, I was sleepy and ready to go. He looked at me with those googly eyes boys get when they've had a few too many and told me to go ahead and go home, he could get a ride with some one else. YEAH RIGHT! They were ALL drunk! I told him that I didn't think that was a very smart idea, and I would be willing to wait for him to finish the beer he had just opened but after that we would be going home. Together.

I was finally able to get him home around 3am. It's funny, typing this out 3am doesn't seem all that late, but things change when you're lugging a belly full of fetus around with you everywhere you go.

He was pretty hung over the next day so we walked down to the store together with the dog for gatorade and excedrin. When he was feeling better he took me vintage clothes shopping to make up for being a butt head the night before. I got an eyelet lace white dress, vintage lace white top, light blue floral button up, and a couple scarves.

All in all it was a pretty wonderful weekend! Now that it's monday I have to start on the house work again. I just can't seem to keep this place clean! Nesting has been really difficult while living with two messy boys.

Oopsy Daisy

funny joke...

"Knock knock..."

"who's there?"

"I'm pregnant."

that's how I told babe... he didn't laugh tho. haha. I was just as surprised as he was when I found out, being on birth control I wasn't really expecting a baby.

Side note, the term "morning sickness" is a crock of shit! It's more like a perpetual hangover. This baby is going to be the death of me.

In all seriousness tho, we really couldn't be happier! I woke up this morning and babe was under the covers talking to my belly. Pretty much the cutest thing ever! Happy happy happy, joy joy joy! : )
